Student Athletic Trainers
STUDENT ATHLETIC TRAINING PROGRAM
This program is designed to create an environment where students can observe and experience the field of Sports Medicine. Student Athletic Trainers will gain knowledge of anatomy and physiology, relate injuries to the demands of sport, assist with immediate care of injuries once proper skills are obtained, observe and understand rehabilitation techniques while assisting athletes with basic rehabilitation exercises and assist with general athletic training procedures during games and practices.
The goal of the program is to prepare our student athletic trainers for future education and professional responsibility. Our athletic training students will be visible at practices & games, helping Ms. Peart in the above listed areas. They are there to learn and further their education that they gain in the classroom. Our sports medicine program allows students to be a part of the “bigger picture” and expand their hands-on sports medicine experience
